Dahlgren Capital and Team Scaleup in strategic partnership – planning new fund for Nordic growth companies

Dahlgren Capital and Team Scaleup are entering a strategic partnership with the ambition of strengthening capital access for Nordic growth companies. As part of the collaboration, the parties plan to launch a joint fund focused on companies that have passed the seed stage and are in a scaleup phase, where capital is combined with operational expertise and active support to create better conditions for long-term growth.
The Nordics have a strong tradition of innovation and entrepreneurship, but many companies face a clear financing gap when leaving the early startup phase and needing capital to scale further. According to data from the European Investment Bank, around 82 percent of Europe's scaleup rounds today are led by foreign investors. Through the partnership, Dahlgren Capital and Team Scaleup want to help more promising companies gain the opportunity to be financed, develop, and grow with the Nordics as their base.
"The Nordics have a fantastic ability to create forward-looking companies, but we need to get better at giving them the right capital and conditions when it's time to take the next step. Together with Team Scaleup, we can combine capital with operational experience, identify strong entrepreneurs, and actively contribute to the companies' continued development. For us, it's about creating long-term value for both the companies and our investors," says Peter Dahlgren, Founder and CEO of Dahlgren Capital.
Capital and expertise combined
The planned fund will invest in selected companies admitted to Team Scaleup's program Velocity, where the companies work on strengthening their fundamentals and accelerating their journey toward Series A. The companies' development is tracked through a structured and documented process, and for companies that show strong development, there is the possibility of a larger follow-up investment from the fund. The model is closely aligned with Dahlgren Capital's investment philosophy – identifying companies with clear development potential and, through active ownership, contributing to long-term value creation.
"We who built Team Scaleup are founders ourselves. What we offer is the support we wish we had had during our own journeys – experienced operators, a clear strategic direction, and honest feedback at the right time. With the fund in place, we can combine that support with capital and give more entrepreneurs the right conditions to take the next step," says Siavash Habibi, CEO and co-founder of Team Scaleup.
Strengthening the Nordic growth ecosystem
For investors, the model means access to a more structured deal flow, where the companies have gone through a documented development process before a potential larger investment.
The partnership is part of Dahlgren Capital's ambition to continue developing its investment offering while also contributing to a stronger entrepreneurial and investment ecosystem in the Nordics.
The joint fund is planned to launch during the fourth quarter of 2026, but applications to Team Scaleup's program are open as of today. Companies admitted to this autumn's program will be prioritized when the fund is activated.
